New Jersey Photographer-Preparing for your Session

How should I prepare for my session?

Children do best when they are well rested and fed. Please select a time that doesn't interrupt your child's natural routine. Schedule your session before or after their nap and after a meal. Most babies are in a much better mood in the morning.

If you would like to keep with a classic look, avoid logos, stripes, plaids or other distracting patterns. Solid colors tend to look better. Desiree and Stacy are always available to discuss how to best coordinate colors, fabrics and outfits. Simple is best!
If you would like to try something a little more trendy, bring a few different outfits that we can choose from on the day of your session. Bright bold colors, knitted hats, cool boots and funky scarves are always fun too! Bare feet? Adorable!

Newborns:
If you are interested in a newborn session please book while you are still pregnant to ensure we have a spot open for you. We will fine-tune your appointment time and date after the arrival of your little one.

Newborns are best photographed before they are 2 weeks old. They still love to curl into those sweet newborn positions and are most sleepy. After 2 weeks or so, babies tend to stretch those legs out and spend more time awake.

Please allow for up to three hours for your newborn session to allow for feedings, diaper changes and breaks from the camera.. Newborn sessions can be challenging but are one of our favorite sessions.

Parents, please bring along black long sleeve shirts for yourselves and also, anything that you would like in the photos. Be prepared for a "warm" session as we keep it around 80 degrees in the studio for the babies!
